President Rivlin

As a young boy in 1949, Reuven Rivlin had a simple dream: that the fledgling State of Israel would grow to two million citizens. Today, the country is home to almost ten million. So “Ruvi” - that’s his informal nickname in Israel - certainly had a great dream. But the future 10th President of Israel admits he really didn’t know how big to dream.

In this episode of storymark℠, President Rivlin recalls a turning point in his career while serving as the Knesset’s Communication Minister: the moment he decided he didn’t want to become Prime Minister. Yet Rivlin took an alternate route: in 2014, Ruvi took office as Israel's 10th President. Beloved by Israelis of all backgrounds, President Rivlin served boldly, unafraid to lead, even when it meant going against the status quo.
